The Super Mario Bros. are getting ready for an other-worldly adventure.
Illumination and Nintendo released the official trailer for “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” during a Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday.
The movie brings back the iconic characters from “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” which came out in 2023 and earned more than $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office.
From Mario (voiced by Chris Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day) to Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), Bowser (Jack Black) and Toad (Keegan Michael-Key), all the familiar faces from the video games and first movie are returning for the big-screen sequel.
A couple of new characters appeared in the trailer two more stars joining the cast. Brie Larson voices Rosalina, while Benny Safdie will voice a villain in Bowser Jr.
Additional characters and voice actors will be announced at a later date.
Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are back to direct, with screenwriter Matthew Fogel and composer Brian Tyler also returning.
“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” will launch into U.S. theaters on April 3, 2026. It will be released in Japan, where Nintendo was founded, on April 24, 2026.
The movie is co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo, and Universal Pictures will helm the release.
