Like a meaty mirage coming into focus, the McRib is back under the Golden Arches.
McDonald’s announced via its Menu Spotter that it’s that time of year again: The McRib is returning to select restaurants starting Nov. 11.
As a reminder, the McRib features seasoned boneless pork dipped in McRib sauce (described as a “tangy BBQ sauce”) and topped with slivered onions and sliced pickles on a toasted bun.
The McRib has returned to whet our palates once more. McDonald’s
This time, the polarizing die-cast sandwich is returning regionally — not nationwide — to cities like Miami, Dallas, Cleveland, St. Louis, Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles, for a limited time.
To those who’d like to get their annual McRib, McDonald’s suggests checking with their local restaurant on its availability.
McDonald’s Holiday Pie. McDonald’s
On Nov. 14, the Holiday Pie is also returning to the House of Ronald McDonald. This treat, unlike the McRib, is coming to participating restaurants nationwide for a limited time. The 260-calorie pie is filled with custard, glazed with sugar and topped with rainbow sprinkles.
“Not to be biased, but it just might be the greatest gift you can get for yourself or your friends and family,” the chain boisterously claims.
The custardy pies were introduced around 2012 but have remained elusive, only appearing on menus at the discretion of franchise owners, until this year.
Meanwhile, McDonald’s tried to convince the masses in November 2022 that the McRib was on its “Farewell Tour,” but it’s returned every year since. The McRib is clearly the Elton John, Cher or Phish of the fast-food world.
If you don’t get the chance to sample the McRib this season, TODAY’s own Al Roker has a copycat recipe you can make at home.
