Cher doesn’t need to turn back time and close the gap in her and Alexander “A.E.” Edwards’ ages.
Indeed, when it comes to whether the two being 40 years apart has caused any issues in their romance?
“No, Thank God,” the 79-year-old told Gayle King during an interview with “CBS Mornings” Nov. 4. “He just says, ‘You get older, but your spirit is younger.’”
Cher, who began her relationship with the 39-year-old music producer in 2022, gushed about all the qualities Edwards has to offer.
“We laugh all the time, and I just love him,” the “Believe” singer said. “I think he’s beautiful. He’s really talented. He’s one of the most talented persons I’ve ever met.”
And for those who critique their love story, Cher assures them that she and Edwards are strong enough to ignore the noise.
“They’re not living my life,” she said. “Nobody knows what goes on between us. But we just have a blast.”

Indeed, another highlight of her relationship with Edwards is the bond she has with his and Amber Rose’s 6-year-old son Slash.
“I used to say, ‘God, give me a toddler and a man,’ she explained. “All the time.”
As for Slash’s best qualities, Cher — mom to Chaz Bono, 56, whom she shares with ex-husband Sonny Bono, and Elijah Blue Allman, 49, whom she shares with Gregg Allman — added, “He’s so funny. He’s so smart, he’s just…he’s a delight.”
Cher and Edwards have proved that neither one of them are set to be singing a song for the lonely anytime soon. In April, the “Strong Enough” singer’s rep shut down speculation that the couple called time on their romance, after Edwards was spotted at Coachella solo.
Prior to the rumors, Cher gushed about the “surprise” birthday celebration Edwards threw her in honor of turning 78.
“We went to a fabulous place,” Cher told E! News in May 2024, recalling their experience at Chateau Romanov. “It was amazing. He was very nice as a host.”
And with all the time the duo is spending together, Cher teased their upcoming collaboration.
“He and I are gonna start a new album,” she said. “We haven’t started yet; he’s going to produce it.”
