Nina Dobrev is taking a bite out of the Big Apple.
Nearly two months after her sudden breakup from fiancé Shaun White, the “Vampire Diaries” star shared a glimpse into her life lately with a surprising update: She moved to New York City.
The 36-year-old revealed she’d swapped coasts on her Instagram Stories Nov. 1 alongside a photo of herself holding up a set of keys with an apple-shaped keychain bearing an image of a New York City skyline and the words “New York.” As Dobrev gushed, “She’s a New Yorker.”
Though the “Degrassi” alum had suggested she was spending more time on the East Coast on social media lately, she had previously been in the process of renovating a home in Los Angeles with White ahead of their breakup.
In a video posted on TikTok in July, Dobrev showcased the construction inside the property, writing, “When you’re getting married and building a house in the same year.”

“How much do we have left?” she lip synced in the clip to White, who replied, “Forty bucks.”
In response, Dobrev joked, “That’s it?”
Though not long earlier, she had indicated she and the Olympian weren’t moving too quickly on the wedding planning process.
“I really want to enjoy it and not rush that process,” Dobrev told E! News in March. “We’re just enjoying being engaged at this point and being in that sort of phase because a lot of your life is — you have a boyfriend for half of your life and then you have a husband for half of your life, but the fiancé period is very short.”
By September, the two had ended their engagement after five years together. And just before the news was made public, Dobrev hinted at repairing a tainted relationship.
“What’s your advice for women trying to fix their man?” the “Degrassi” alum mouthed in a Sept. 5 TikTok video. “Listen, Bob the Builder, he’s got 10 other women trying to fix him too, and you all look like a damn construction crew.”
Since her and White’s breakup, Dobrev has kept busy with close circle of friends, attending Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding with Ashley Park and taking a yacht trip to Europe with Zac Efron, Miles Teller, Keleigh Teller and Chace Crawford for a friend’s wedding.
In fact, the getaway even led to romance rumors between her and the “High School Musical” star. However, as Dobrev later emphasized, these days, she is concentrating on herself.
“I’m excited for the future,” she told TMZ, “and the only thing that’s guaranteed is change.”
