Krispy Kreme is overhauling its O-shaped offerings.
On Nov. 3, the chain announced it is expanding its doughnut menu, adding six new permanent flavors and three new limited-time ones. Its permanent menu is growing from 10 to 16 full-sized doughnuts — and they’re all available starting today.
Krispy Kreme says it has been testing this all-star roster for more than a year. The new slate includes trending flavors, flavors customers begged for on social media and popular limited-time doughnuts that have now been promoted.
In honor of the menu expansion, the chain tapped Grammy-winning singer Montell Jordan to remake his hit “This is How We Do It” into a doughnut-centric song, which will appear on social media.
The nine new doughnuts join the iconic Original Glazed doughnut and six other classic varieties, available individually and by the dozen.
New permanent doughnut flavors
- New York Cheesecake: An unglazed doughnut dipped in vanilla-flavored icing, topped with graham crunch and filled with cheesecake flavored Kreme.
- Oreo Cookies and Kreme: An unglazed doughnut filled with Oreo cookies and creme filling, dipped in chocolate icing, topped with Oreo cookie pieces and drizzled with vanilla-flavored icing.
- Original Glazed Cake: An Original Glazed, old-fashioned cake doughnut.
- Cinnamon Apple Filled: An unglazed doughnut piped with apple cinnamon filling and tossed in a powdered cinnamon-flavored coating.
- Original Glazed Kreme Filled Doughnut: An Original Glazed doughnut full of Kreme filling.
New seasonal doughnut flavors
- Biscoff Cookie Butter Kreme: An unglazed doughnut filled with Biscoff Cookie Butter-flavored Kreme, dipped in Biscoff cookie butter, topped with Biscoff cookie pieces and drizzled with vanilla-flavored icing.
- Maple Iced: An Original Glazed doughnut dipped in maple icing.
- Chocolate Fudge Brownie Doughnut: An Original Glazed doughnut topped with brownie batter-flavored buttercream, brownie crunch topping and rainbow sprinkles.
- Original Glazed Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut: A “pumpkin spice-tastic take” on its classic cake doughnut.
Krispy Kreme says it will rotate in four new doughnuts on a seasonal basis five times a year.
“We are so excited to introduce nine new flavors to our lineup so everyone can build a dozen that is as unique as they are,” Alison Holder, Krispy Kreme’s chief brand and product officer, said in a press release. “We are bringing more variety, more flavor and most importantly more choice, and we can’t wait for consumers to show us how they dozen!”
Doughnuts being discontinued
Of course, as with any overhaul, there are some flavors customers will have to bid farewell to. In this case, those are Original Glazed Blueberry Cake, Original Glazed Lemon Filled and Cake Batter Doughuts.
“But fret not, these doughnuts could return in the future,” Krispy Kreme added.
