Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos need a lot of travel mercies.
The “Live With Kelly and Mark” host playfully traded barbs while discussing their travel habits and the possibility of getting an “airport divorce.”
“Couples are doing something unique and I want to run this by you,” Ripa said to her husband during a segment on the Oct. 22 show. “I think we could do well with this: an airport divorce. [Because] you and I have different traveling philosophies, different traveling styles.”
After Consuelos quickly asked, “Like walk fast in the airport,” his wife of 29 years retorted,” I just feel like you like to get there four to 16 hours before a flight takes off.”
However, Consuelos disagreed with that statement. “That’s not true,” he responded. “I like to get there an hour and a half before.”
Ripa — who shares kids Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 22, with Consuelos — further explained that he gets “irritated” when people notice them amid their travel, prompting the “Riverdale” alum to defend himself noting, “Don’t put that out there. I’m very nice to people. That’s not cool.”

Ripa quickly clarified, explaining that he gets frustrated with her, as her husband interjected, “No. I don’t get irritated with you.”
“I’m irritated with you right now,” he quipped. “For trying to throw me under the bus.”
Ripa went on to recall a time she and her husband were travelling after his TSA PreCheck expired leaving her to join him in the standard check-in line. And though the “All My Children” alum did a good deed by her husband, according to her, he still found a way to be irritated with her.
“My line was straight ahead, where the people sailed through because they still had their TSA privileges,” Kelly reiterated. “But now I’m with Mark, so my shoes are coming off and everything’s being taken out of my bag. I am being violated in this line, and Mark is still irritated with me.”
Squashing the beef with her husband, Ripa added, “The airport divorce is what we are definitely getting.”
Indeed, while the on-air duo plan to separate when it comes to traveling, the pair maintain one part of their daily routine that assures they get face time after they call cut — and separate for the day — after filming their daytime talk show.
“We do come together at night,” Kelly told E! News in July about their romance secret. “We have a nice dinner, a nice meal together.”
