Vlad Doronin’s OKO, Jamal Daniel’s Bastion Collection partner on exclusive 830 Brickell club, restaurant

Vlad Doronin’s OKO Group and The Bastion Collection have partnered on a planned restaurant and exclusive club on the top two floors of the 830 Brickell office tower.

Miami-based OKO and Bastion, a subsidiary of Houston-based Crest Investment Company, plan Seia with an Italian restaurant and members-only club on the 54th and 55th floors of the tower, according to a Bastion Collection news release and first reported by Bloomberg. The club will span 4,200 square feet, and the restaurant will span 10,000 square feet, according to a Bastion spokesperson.

Jamal Daniel, an investor in media, real estate, hospitality, tech, energy and other business lines, is the founder of Crest. Bastion’s other South Florida concepts are the two-Michelin-starred L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and the Michelin-starred Le Jardinier in the Miami Design District.

The 178-seat Seia restaurant and the Seia club, with interiors designed by Zervudachi, Roberts and Macadam, are expected to open next year, the release says. The venue also will have an exclusive café for tenants.

830 Brickell tenants will receive Seia club invitations, with membership costing a $25,000 initiation fee and $5,000 in annual dues, according to the Bastion spokesperson.

OKO and London-based Cain International, led by Jonathan Goldstein, finished development of 830 Brickell last year at 830 Brickell Plaza in Miami, after a roughly two-year completion delay. It is the first standalone office building in the Brickell Financial District in more than a decade.

The tower reaped a leasing bonanza due to its fortunate timing: It was under construction during the pandemic-era influx of out-of-state companies to South Florida, many of whom sought top tier office spaces and signed up for space at 830 Brickell. The tower is fully leased.

Tenants include law firms Kirkland & Ellis and Sidley Austin, Microsoft, insurance firms Marsh and A-Cap, and financial services firm Corient (previously called CI Financial). Also, billionaire hedge funder Ken Griffin’s Citadel and Citadel Securities have offices at 830 Brickell, after Griffin moved the firms’ headquarters from Chicago to Miami in 2022.

The Seia restaurant and club announcement comes after a previously planned hospitality concept at 830 Brickell fizzled out.

In December, OKO and Tao Group Hospitality said they will open a Mediterranean restaurant and club with a members-only lounge on the top two floors. At some point after that, the firms nixed the project. Tao is led by Noah Tepperberg and Jason Strauss.
