And just like that… Sabrina Carpenter is pulling double duty on “Saturday Night Live.”
The “Espresso” hitmaker is set to host and be the musical guest on the upcoming Oct. 18 episode of “SNL,” and the late-night sketch comedy series just gave viewers the first taste of Carpenter’s first time as host.
Carpenter channels Sarah Jessica Parker’s iconic Carrie Bradshaw character in a “Sex and the City”-themed teaser released Oct. 15 in which she declares, “New York is one big apple, and I’m taking my bite at Saturday Night Live.”
The 26-year-old walks down the hallway backstage at 30 Rock, passing a few “SNL” writers and cast members, poking fun at herself along the way.
After one of them asks what she’s up to, she responds, “In these heels? Probably, like, 5’4″.”
Later on, she mistakes Marcello Hernandez—who she famously “arrested” at one of her concerts last fall before reuniting with him during his Domingo sketch on “SNL50” this past February—for Bradshaw’s longtime love, Mr. Big.
“Oh, thank God!” Carpenter says as she finishes off a cosmopolitan. “It’s Mr. Big!”
Hernandez corrects her, but ultimately grabs the empty glass from her as she walks past him.

“It’s actually Marcello,” he responds, “but I’ll take it.”
The “Please Please Please” singer continues on through the hallway where she autographs a writer’s script, thinking he was a fan, and then stops at a laptop to recreate one of Bradshaw’s iconic narrated writing scenes.
“The woman wondered what she’d gotten herself into,” Carpenter says as she types on the keyboard. “Having won over the cast and crew, the only thing left to do was…”
The Disney alum’s inner monologue is interrupted by a writer who wonders what she’s writing before Sarah Sherman delivers the kicker.
“No idea,” she exclaims. “The computer’s not even on!”
The promo sketch comes a few weeks after Carpenter shared the news that she would be hosting and performing on the upcoming episode, joking on Instagram Sept. 18, “they’re gonna regret this.”

Quinta Brunson is honoring her fellow “shorties.” The “Abbott Elementary” star hosted the May 3 episode of “Saturday Night Live” with musical guest Benson Boone. During her monologue, the actress, who is 4’11″, discussed how she is proud of being short. The Emmy winner then broke out in song highlighting fellow A-listers who are also short like Kendrick Lamar, Simone Biles, and Tom Holland, before being joined onstage by Sabrina Carpenter.
