Russell Galbut and his partners in Galleria Fort Lauderdale tapped new leadership to oversee the mall as they pursue a major redevelopment.
Jim Heilmann joined Galleria Fort Lauderdale as senior general manager, according to a press release. Galbut’s GFO Investments, InSite Group, Atlas Hill Real Estate and Prime Finance teamed up to buy the retail complex last month. They paid $73 million for the 800,000-square-foot indoor mall. The partners are considering a major redevelopment of the mall that would include nine 30-story towers, a 170-key hotel and hundreds of Live Local Act units, the Miami Herald reported this week.
Heilmann joins Centennial, the firm managing Galleria, from Area15, the Las Vegas experiential entertainment district where he was most recently vice president of operations for three years, according to LinkedIn.
As senior general manager of Galleria, he will lead the mall’s operations, marketing efforts and tenant relations, the release shows.
Douglas Elliman brought in Chiqui Delgado, the Venezuelan actress and TV personality, to Edgar Marquez’s Casa Team, according to a press release. Also an interior designer and real estate investor, this is her first foray into the brokerage business. It also marks the Casa Team’s expansion to Miami. Marquez is also Venezuelan and lived in Miami before moving to New York City in 2005. He has been with Elliman in New York City for two years.
David Martin’s Terra tapped Elliman’s New York-based Chestler Jacobs Team as national brand ambassadors for its portfolio of South Florida projects, according to a press release. The team, led by Jessica Chestler and Ben Jacobs, will host private events, broker tours and presentations to complement the work of Terra’s local sales teams, the release shows. The slate of projects includes Mr. C Residences in West Palm Beach, the Well Bay Harbor Islands, the Well Coconut Grove and Villa Miami.
Shawmut Design and Construction hired Scott Remer as a project executive, as it rapidly expands its South Florida team, a press release shows. He will oversee office and field operations for his projects, according to the release. Remer joins the firm from Current Builders, where he was most recently COO, LinkedIn shows. Shawmut has grown its South Florida team by 20 percent and expanded its office space by 50 percent in recent months, according to the release.
