Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is celebrating her daughter Lilibet on International Day of the Girl.
To mark the occasion, the former Meghan Markle shared an adorable post on Instagram Oct. 11 that featured two new glimpses of her 4-year-old daughter.
In the first frame of the post, Meghan shared a short clip of Lilibet as she ran across the yard through the grass. The video was followed by a photo of the mother-daughter duo standing side by side while she held Lilibet’s hand.
Meghan penned an inspirational message in the caption, writing in part, “To all the girls — this world is yours.”
“Do everything you can to protect your rights, use your voice, support each other,” she continued. “We will do the same for you. It’s your right and our responsibility. Go get ‘em girl! Happy International Day of the Girl.”
Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, are parents to two children: son Archie, born in May 2019, and daughter Lilibet, born in June 2021.
To celebrate Lilibet’s fourth birthday in June, Meghan shared two black-and-white photos on Instagram. The first frame was a more recent snap as she held her daughter on a boat, followed by a photo of Meghan posing with Lilibet as a newborn.
“Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives — and each day is brighter and better because of it,” Meghan wrote in the caption. “Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!”
The parents of two have chosen to keep their children out of the spotlight, including concealing their faces on social media.
Meghan previously told Oprah Winfrey that she believes “everyone has a basic right to privacy.” At the time, she added, “I think life is about being able to share stories and parts of our lives that you’re comfortable with.”
Neither Lilibet nor Archie appeared in her Netflix series “With Love, Meghan,” but she mentioned them on several occasions.
In the series, she discussed life as a mom, including sharing that both of her children are big fans of her fruit preserves, that Lilibet does a little dance when she loves a food and that her daughter’s favorite color is pink.
While they don’t appear on-screen in the series, Meghan did share a behind-the-scenes look of her kids on set in September.
On social media, Meghan posted a snap of Archie and Lilibet next to each other as they appeared to watch their mom on a monitor. More photos captured Lilibet in a director’s chair with her head turned away from the camera and a snap of Archie holding a clapperboard.
On Sept. 20, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance at the One805LIVE! Concert, which raises funds for Santa Barbara County first responders.
