Gigi Hadid is grateful for her guardian angels.
The supermodel got emotional while reflecting on the early days of her modeling career, saying that booking her first-ever Victoria’s Secret fashion show in 2015 was a “dream come true.”
“I’m just so happy for her,” Gigi Hadid tearfully shared in an Oct. 10 video with the lingerie brand, explaining how she “went to a lot of go-sees” and “tried out two or three times” before finally landing the gig. “She just wanted it so bad. I look back at pictures of that time and the world was so hard on her — and not just me, hard on girls.”
But 10 years later, Gigi Hadid now realizes that she was actually “the s—.”
“That was an awesome time,” continued the fashion icon, who will be walking in this year’s Victoria’s Secret’s runway presentation as well. “I deserved to be there and to continue to come back to this show. I’m just so happy for that girl that got the first show, and also my teenage self who watched the show.”

In fact, she said being able to share the Victoria’s Secret runway with her younger sister Bella Hadid through the years was a “fever dream.”
“When I can look over at my sister, and she’s shiny and hot and wearing angel wings,” the 30-year-old quipped, “that’s part of the dream come true.”
And now as mom to 5-year-old daughter Khai with ex Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid has a new outlook on the show. As she put it, “Having a child makes you experience everything in life differently.”
“This is most glamorous, exciting, sparkly, fun, pink version of my job,” she raved. “This, to me, is the most exciting thing to tell Khai about. She’s just as excited about all the costumes as me.”
Gigi Hadid added, “The VS show is one of those things that still makes my heart beat really fast.”
