For Taylor Swift, the life of a showgirl includes showing up for your best friends.
Indeed, “The Fate of Ophelia” attended longtime pal Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s Sept. 27 wedding, just one week before of the release of her new album “The Life of a Showgirl.” And for Swift, seeing her bestie in love on her special day meant the world.
“Selena was the most beautiful — not just the most beautiful bride — the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen,” Swift said on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up Oct. 6. “[I’m] just so happy, and she deserves it so much. And you only wish that for people, you know?”
Swift — who became friends with the “Wizards of Waverly Place” alum back when they dated Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas as teenagers — also noted how lucky she feels to be in love and witness her friends find love at the same time.

Case in point, that now-iconic 2023 Fourth of July group photo featuring Gomez and some other then-single pals — captioned “Happy belated Independence Day from your local neighborhood independent girlies” — that Swift posted just before the Kansas City concert that kick-started her romance with Travis Kelce.
And more than two years later, Swift cannot believe how quickly their fate changed afterwards.
“I’m in this picture with a bunch of girls. A lot — not just me and Selena — a few of the other girls found their person right after that,” the Grammy winner, who got engaged to Kelce in August, explained. “Then I the next day go and play in Kansas City — not knowing that Travis was gonna come to the show.”
“It’s unreal,” she continued. “So, I’m just thinking about how grateful I am that he exists. And also how happy I am for my friends when they find happiness.”
That happiness goes both ways as Selena gushed over the “Opalite” singer — who also gave a speech at her wedding — and her major musical milestone by sharing a special glimpse at Swift being by her side on her wedding.
“In honor of SHOWGIRL .. blessed to have you by my side almost 20 years later gator!” the “Only Murders in the Building” star captioned an Oct. 6 post, which features a clip of Swift sitting by her side as she got ready for the big day, photos of them celebrating the milestone, and a screenshot of her phone playing Swift’s newest single. “I love you @taylorswift forever and always.”
