Laura Dern is now part of a marriage fashion story.

The “Big Little Lies” actress turned heads when she made her runway debut at the Gabriela Hearst spring/summer 2026 show Oct. 1 during Paris Fashion Week.

For her haute couture milestone, Dern stunned in a sleeveless, drop-waist, full-length white dress embroidered with hundreds of 3D floral appliqués. To complete the look, she paired her outfit with matching sandals.

This may have been Dern’s first time strutting down the runway but it’s certainly not her first fashion week. In fact, earlier this month, she attended the Ralph Lauren show during New York Fashion Week.

And it’s no surprise Gabriela Hearst was the designer to get Dern to finally step on the fashion main stage. After all, the “Jurassic Park” star has often worn designs from Hearst, including at her first-ever Met Gala. For that monumental 2017 occasion, Laura sported a navy gown with geometric cutouts.

And while Hearst’s Paris Fashion Week show marked Dern’s catwalk debut, the actress has modeled before.

In 2024, she and ex-husband Ben Harper’s daughter Jaya Harper, 20, starred together in ads for French luxury accessories brand Roger Vivier. Plus, three years earlier, Dern joined her and the musician’s son Ellery Harper, 24, to model designs from Proenza Schouler’s gender-neutral capsule collection, a collaboration with Mercedes-Benz.

But ultimately, acting is Dern’s primary passion.

“It’s lovely to be considered pretty and lovely to do photo shoots, and I just love fashion,” she told Vogue in 2015. “But I’m proud that I did the characters I wanted to do.”

And when it comes to playing the role of cheerleading mom, the Oscar winner deserves all the awards.

Case in point: She was there to support Ellery when he made his own runway debut, walking the catwalk at Raf Simons’ Calvin Klein show during New York Fashion Week in 2018.

“Always a privilege to witness Raf Simons’ genius for Calvin Klein,” Dern, who watched the event from the front row, wrote on Instagram at the time,” especially when I am the proudest mama witnessing my son walk for him.”
