Ever since the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte, Starbucks customers have been demanding one fall drink’s return — and now, the coffee giant is heeding that call.
Starbucks confirmed to TODAY.com that its Apple Crisp flavor will be coming back to cafes nationwide starting on Oct. 14.
“You all for the last month,” Starbucks wrote on a picture of a person bobbing for apples in a playful Instagram post.
This year, the chain is offering its Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso and Apple Crisp Cold Foam, as well as a new Apple Crisp Protein Cold Foam for a limited time, while supplies last.
As a reminder, the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso features blonde espresso with notes of apple, cinnamon and brown sugar, shaken together and topped with oatmilk.
An optional layer of Apple Crisp Cold Foam (or the new protein version which adds 15 grams of protein per grande drink) can be added to any cold beverage, like the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.
Starbucks’ main suite of Protein Lattes and Cold Foam will launch on Sept. 29, and its Apple Crisp Protein Cold Foam will become available on Oct. 14.
The return of Apple Crisp comes after customers expressed their disappointment not to see it on the menu when the Pumpkin Spice Latte dropped on Aug. 25. Under the announcement on Instagram, social media users repeatedly asked where the apple-flavored beverages were.
“So the apple crisp macchiato isn’t here ?! 😑,” asked one disappointed user.
“Where is apple crisp 😒😒😒😒?!?!” asked another.
“APPLE CRISP APPLE CRISP APPLE CRISP,” exclaimed another fan of the flavor.
And the social media response certainly didn’t stop there: Folks commented about the flavor on nearly every post all the way up to the chain’s announcement today.
“We want apple!!!!! For crying out loud!! You keep torturing us!!” wrote one desperate devotee on Sept. 15.
What else is on Starbucks’ fall menu?
If you are one of the apparent few not in the Apple Crisp fan club, Starbucks is offering plenty of other fall-flavored fun this season.
Starbucks’ fall drink menu includes its signature Pumpkin Spice Latte, as well as the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai.
In the nutty category, the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte is back for a second year with its blonde espresso combined with oat milk, notes of pecan, brown butter and holiday baking spices, with pecan crunch sprinkled on top.
And there’s a new drink on the roster — the Pecan Oatmilk Cortado — which features three shots of blonde espresso with notes of pecan, brown butter and holiday baking spices, steamed oat milk and a pecan crunch topping, served hot in an 8-ounce cup.
