Coast Guard set to offload over 76,000 pounds of cocaine at Port Everglades

The U.S. Coast Guard is set to offload over 38 tons of cocaine Monday morning at Port Everglades.

It’s the largest cocaine offload in Coast Guard history.

The 76,140 pounds of illegal narcotics were seized during counter drug operations in the Eastern Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea, according to the Coast Guard.

On hand for the offload will be Coast Guard Rear Admiral Adam Chamie, commander of the southeast district, and Coast Guard Rear Admiral Chase Sargeant, deputy director of the Joint Interagency Task Force-South.

The Coast Guard has scheduled a press conference for 10 a.m. where they will provide additional details of their historic milestone
