Jimmy Kimmel could be saying ciao to a new country.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host revealed that he’s obtained Italian citizenship amid his feud with President Donald Trump.
“I did get Italian citizenship,” Kimmel shared on The Sarah Silverman Podcast Aug. 7. “I do have that.”
And his reasoning? “What’s going on is as bad as you thought it was gonna be.”
Silverman — who dated Kimmel from 2002 to 2009—agreed, noting it was “way worse.”
Kimmel responded, “It’s so much worse.”
Kimmel—who shares kids Katie Kimmel, 33, and Kevin Kimmel, 31, with ex Gina Maddy and children Jane Kimmel, 11, and Billy Kimmel, 8, with wife Molly McNearney — added, “It’s just unbelievable. I feel like it’s probably even worse than [President Trump] would like it to be.”
While the late night host has often been critical of the president, their feud was recently in the spotlight after Stephen Colbert announced in July that CBS would be canceling The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2026.

Trump acknowledged the news on his Truth Social account July 29, writing that Stephen “was fired for a pure lack of TALENT.”
He added, “Next up will be an even less talented Jimmy Kimmel.”
But Kimmel is not the only person who has looked to move abroad in the past year: Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi moved to England, while Rosie O’Donnell and her family relocated to Ireland shortly before Trump’s January inauguration.
In fact, DeGeneres recently shared her support for O’Donnell after Trump said he was considering “revoking” the Sleepless in Seattle star’s U.S. citizenship.
O’Donnell responded to the politician by writing on social media, “Hey Donald, you’re rattled again? Eighteen years later and I still live rent-free in that collapsing brain of yours. You call me a threat to humanity — but I’m everything you fear a loud woman, a queer woman who tells the truth.”
DeGeneres shared a screenshot of the conversation to her Instagram in July, writing in the caption, “Good for you @rosie.”
Jimmy Kimmel is recalling partying with Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce at a party packed with A-Listers.
