Attorney Anthony Lopez and his fiancée, former “Real Housewives of Miami” star, Dr. Nicole Martin, had a change of heart and sold their waterfront mansion in Coral Gables, likely for a big profit.
A trust in Lopez’s name sold the 19,380-square-foot, seven-bedroom home at 555 Reinante Avenue for $40 million to English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams, according to sources. The New York Post first reported the deal.
The power Miami couple paid $21.5 million for the 1-acre, peninsula-shaped lot in Old Cutler Bay in 2022. That means they sold the home for 86 percent more than they paid, though that doesn’t include the money they spent renovating the property. The house was built in 2016.
Lopez, a fixture on Miami-Dade buses and billboards, is a shareholder at Marin, Eljaiek, Lopez & Martinez, a Coconut Grove-based law firm. Martin, an anesthesiologist, was on “The Real Housewives of Miami” until this latest season. They own a condo on Fisher Island.
The couple’s renovation of the Coral Gables mansion was a storyline in the Bravo franchise.
Lopez spent millions of dollars gut-renovating the house over the past two years, including converting the garage into a “very cool work of art,” Lopez told The Real Deal. Keith Menin’s Menin Design created custom lighting for the property. It has 435 feet of water frontage and a 75-foot dock.
“I was very sad to part with it,” Lopez said. “It was one of those offers that felt irresponsible to say no to.”
Dennis Carvajal of One Sotheby’s International Realty represented the sellers in the off-market deal. Chad Carroll of the Chad Carroll Group at Compass represented the buyer.
The property includes seven bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, a resort-style pool, firepit, outdoor kitchen, 18-car garage and a wine cellar.
Williams, who is also an actor, paid an additional $5 million for the furnishings, Lopez confirmed. Williams hired builder Manny Angelo Varas to oversee an expansion of the property, according to a spokesperson for Varas.
Lopez and Martin have sold other properties they also had renovated. In 2022, they sold their nearly 13,000-square-foot estate at 9501 Journeys End Lane in Coral Gables to Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos’ mother, Jackie, and his stepfather, Mike, for $44 million. That was in addition to the $34 million that Jackie and Mike Bezos paid for the adjacent home at 9475 Journeys End Road.
