A 57-year-old woman was airlifted to a local hospital Tuesday afternoon after she was bitten by a dog while working as a caretaker at a home in Hialeah, police said.
Hialeah police said it happened at a home in the 1100 block of West 50th Place.
Her half-sister tells CBS News Miami she was helping care for a family member when she was suddenly attacked. She was bitten in both arms, one of them mauled and had to be airlifted here to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
CBS News Miami cameras showed an animal control truck outside the residence.
Police said the dog was placed in quarantine.
The incident remains under investigation.
