A massive estate in Davie sold for $25.5 million, marking a record for home sales in the western Broward County town.
Laurent and Laure Parelle sold their 11,325-square-foot, seven-bedroom and eight-bathroom mansion at 14851 Southwest 21st Street, according to the property records and the listing. The 10-acre property includes landscaped gardens, fountains, a reflecting pool, chef’s kitchen, a home theater, spa, office, art studio and pool house.
Laurent Parelle is the former president and CEO of Fort Lauderdale-based Air Cost Control and Laure is CEO of Sunrise-based Aerodyne Worldwide, according to their LinkedIn profiles. Both companies are in the aerospace field.
The couple paid just $775,000 for the Davie property in 2009, according to records.
Barnes International Realty’s Enzo Rosani represented the seller. Compass agent William Abreu, a former professional baseball player, represented the buyer. The brokers declined to disclose the buyer’s identity and the deed has not yet been recorded.
The property hit the market in March for $32 million, so the buyers got a 20-percent discount off the original asking price.
The sale blows past previous home sale records in Davie. The previous record was the $5.6 million sale of the home at 10850 Southwest 23rd Street in February, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
The town borders Weston, Southwest Ranches and Plantation. These cities have attracted a number of professional athletes, including Miami Dolphins’ quarterback Tuanigamanuolepola “Tua” Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa paid $1.7 million for his home on Pine Lodge Trail in Davie in 2020.
In Southwest Ranches, a large estate at 13000 Lewis Lane sold in 2023 for $22.5 million, a record for the equestrian town.
Buyers and sellers continue to set records across South Florida despite the slowdown in transactions and price growth.
Last month, Canadian baby products mogul Maurice Pinsonnault sold his oceanfront estate in North Palm Beach’s gated Lost Tree Village for $55 million, marking the most expensive home ever sold in the enclave.
Earlier this year, Patrick Dovigi, a former professional hockey player who founded and leads a major Canadian waste management company called Green For Life Environmental, sold a partially built waterfront house in Bal Harbour for $69.5 million, a record for the oceanfront town.
