Developer Nicholas Stratigakes, CEO of Chicago-based Atwater Group, sold his waterfront Fort Lauderdale home for $19 million.
Records show Stratigakes sold the house at 2519 Aqua Vista Boulevard to Joseph Matarese, Tracey Matarese and Mark Prestipino.
Nicole Bentz with Florida Luxurious Properties had the listing, and Susan B. Meyers with the Keyes Companies brought the buyers.
Stratigakes founded Atwater, a commercial real estate development and brokerage firm with projects in the Midwest, Southwest, Mid-Atlantic, and South Florida regions, according to its website.
He bought the Aqua Vista Boulevard home for $6.8 million in 2021, according to property records. It was built in 2005 and spans 7,500 square feet, with eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, a gym, theater, 100 feet of waterfront and a pool, records and the listing show. Stratigakes completed an extensive renovation of the home last year, according to the listing.
It hit the market for $22.5 million last year, Redfin shows.
Fort Lauderdale’s luxury real estate market has boomed in recent years, fueled by a wealth migration to South Florida. In September, financier Donald Sussman sold his waterfront estate for a record $70 million, blowing past Broward County’s previous $40 million price record.
Last month, a local developer and a Pennsylvania businessman swapped homes in a pair of deals totaling $37 million. In March, freight heir Phillip Kirschbaum sold his waterfront mansion for $15 million.
