Lease roundup: Nicklaus Children’s Hospital takes space in Coral Gables, vitamin firm opens Palm Beach County facility


Nicklaus Children’s Hospital | Coral Gables 

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital signed a lease for space at Columbus Center in Coral Gables. 

The hospital leased 67,700 square feet at 1 Alhambra Plaza, according to Cushman & Wakefield’s first quarter office report for Miami-Dade County. 

Columbus Center, consisting of a 14-story building and an eight-story building, faced debt woes for much of the past year. Last month, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania-based Tourmaline Capital Partners bought the complex out of foreclosure for $76 million. Tourmaline is led by Brandon Huffman.

GummyWorks | Palm Beach County 

A vitamin gummies company opened a manufacturing facility in Palm Beach County. 

GummyWorks leased 100,000 square feet at 386 North Haverhill Road in an unincorporated area of the county, according to the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County’s news release. The building is at the Airport Logistics Park. 

Records show Palm Beach County owns the industrial complex, and McCraney Property Company is a tenant. 

Florentin Bakery, Mimi Yoga | North Miami Beach 

Macken Companies and Trinsic Residential Group scored two retailers at their Aura mixed-use project under construction in North Miami Beach. 

Florentin Bakery leased 2,800 square feet, and Mimi Yoga leased 2,700 square feet at 16955-17071 West Dixie Highway, according to the developers’ news release. 

Barrett Wolf of Wolf Co. represented the landlords in both deals, as well as Florentin Bakery. 

Luchy Hermoso of Coldwell Banker represented Mimi Yoga. 

Hollywood-based family firm Macken and Dallas-based Trinsic are developing the eight-story Aura with 373 apartments, 17,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and 9,000 square feet of exterior retail space, the release says. It is expected to be completed in the second quarter. 

After the recent deals, Aura’s retail space is 60 percent preleased, according to the release. 

Trawick International | Miami-Dade County 

A travel insurance firm moved its headquarters to Miami-Dade County’s Kendall neighborhood. 

Trawick International leased 3,200 square feet at Dadeland Centre at 9155 South Dadeland Boulevard in an unincorporated area of the county, according to the tenant’s spokesperson. Trawick, led by Daryl Trawick, previously was based in Fairhope, Alabama. 

Kendall-based family-owned firm Green Companies developed the 17-story Dadeland Centre office tower, completing it in 2001, the company’s website says. 

New You Studio | Hollywood 

A multimedia production facility opened in Hollywood. 

New You Media opened the 9,500-square-foot New You Studio at 2880 Southwest 42nd Street, according to the tenant’s news release. The space can accommodate podcasts, kitchen demos, livestreaming, and both small and large LED wall productions. It also has a cyclorama wall and green room.  

New You Media is a media company founded by Ken Meares. 

Records show the building is owned by Great Neck, New York-based entity CJ Partners Hollywood.
