Today is National Margarita Day! Celebrate with these deals and recipes


It isn’t Cinco de Mayo and it isn’t Taco Tuesday but you still have a reason to go out and enjoy a margarita (responsibly!).

On Sunday, February 22, restaurants and bars nationwide will be celebrating National Margarita Day with some seriously spicy discounts.

Whether you like your margarita frozen, on the rocks, with a salt rim or sugar, this is where to find the best deals on America’s most popular cocktail.

This year, @eatatabuelos is celebrating Margarita Day with $8 Platinum Margaritas, Skinny Margaritas, and their new Original Margarita all day long.

Benihana is marking National Margarita Day with a four-day lineup of $9 handcrafted margaritas, available Feb. 22 through Feb. 25 in the bar and lounge at participating locations.

Guests can choose from several featured flavors, including the bright and refreshing Watermelon Margarita, the subtly sweet Prickly Pear Margarita and the tropical Perfect Piña Margarita with pineapple and citrus. The lineup also includes Rocky’s Margarita, the restaurant’s bold house classic. Each cocktail is handcrafted and available all day during the limited-time celebration.

Chili’s is leaning all the way into margarita season with the launch of its new Margarita of the Month Club, timed with National Margarita Day on Feb. 22. The chain recently began releasing a new $6 seasonal margarita each month, starting with February’s strawberry-forward StrawEddy Margarita, and is giving fans free cocktail passport books to track each flavor. There’s even themed merch, including polos and hats, for superfans.

To celebrate the holiday, Chili’s is offering several limited-time deals, including a $5 Tequila Classic Margarita made with Cuervo Tradicional Blanco and house-made sour, the $6 StrawEddy Margarita of the Month featuring Lunazul Blanco Tequila and strawberry puree, and a $7 Patrón Frozen Margarita made with Patrón Silver Tequila, triple sec, lime juice and agave. Deals are available at participating locations.

Chuy’s is offering drink specials for dine-in customers on Sunday. Customers can upgrade their house margaritas to a grande for $2 and will receive a special cup. Add an extra pour of tequila or orange liqueur for $1 all day.

Condado Tacos is celebrating National Margarita Day with deals all weekend long, including $27 margarita pitchers available through Sunday. Guests can also try the new $5 Mystery Margarita, available through March 2. Those who correctly guess the flavor will be entered for a chance to win free tacos for a year.

Additional specials include a two-margarita flight for $20, available Thursday through Saturday. Families can take advantage of a kids-eat-free offer, with children 10 and under eating free with the purchase of an adult entrée of $12 or more.

Fuzzy’s is offering one chill deal with $4 Sangria ‘Rita Swirls and house margaritas all day long.

Kona Grill is celebrating National Margarita Day with a special deal on its signature Kona Margarita, available for $6 exclusively at the bar.

The handcrafted classic is part of a broader lineup that includes fruity and spicy variations like the Watermelon Margarita with Lunazul Tequila, the Tajín-rimmed Passion-Rita and the Dragon Fruit Margarita made with Milagro Reposado Tequila.

Guests who want to sample multiple flavors can also opt for a margarita flight featuring three frozen varieties, making it easy to toast the holiday with a mix of bold and refreshing options.

Members of the Paradise Points loyalty program can score a “Margarita in Paradise” for just $2 on National Margarita Day by bringing in their own cup, glass or even a blender.

The drink will be filled up to 20 ounces, giving fans a customizable and budget-friendly way to celebrate. The offer is valid Feb. 22, and guests can join the Paradise Points dining rewards program online to participate.


If you’re celebrating at home, Toro Toro Fort Worth has prepared a trio of bold, Latin-inspired margarita recipes that showcase the restaurant’s elevated take on the classic tequila cocktail.

Spicy Mango Margarita

A vibrant balance of heat and sweetness featuring Ghost Blanco Tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, and ripe mango purée. Shaken and served over ice in a Tajín-rimmed glass, finished with a sliced jalapeño garnish for an extra kick.

Ingredients:

  • 2oz Ghost Blanco Tequila
  • 1oz Cointreau
  • 1/2 oz Lime Juice
  • 1/2 oz Agave Nectar
  • 1/2 oz Mango Puree

Salted Cucumber Margarita

Crisp, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. This margarita blends Blanco Tequila, Grand Marnier, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, and muddled cucumber with a pinch of salt. Shaken and double-strained over a large cube, garnished with a cucumber wheel.

Ingredients:

  • 2oz Blanco Tequila
  • 1oz Grand Marnier
  • 1/2 oz lime
  • 1/4 oz Agave Nectar
  • Muddled cucumber with pinch of salt 

Monterita

An elevated, spirit-forward twist on the margarita. Reposado Tequila is paired with Amaro Montenegro, fresh lime juice and agave nectar, then shaken and double-strained into a Nick & Nora glass. Finished with a dehydrated orange peel for a refined, aromatic touch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2oz Reposado Tequila
  • 1 1/2oz Amaro Montenegro
  • 1/2 oz Lime Juice
  • 1/4 oz Agave Nectar
