McDonald’s is selling McMuffins for $1 — here’s how to get one

McDonald’s fans can save big and score a $1 breakfast sandwich — but for one day only.

On Monday, March 2, customers can choose between an Egg McMuffin breakfast sandwich or a Sausage McMuffin with Egg breakfast sandwich for just one dollar, exclusively through the McDonald’s App during breakfast hours.

“Packed with 17-20 grams of protein, it’s the perfect boost to start the day,” McDonald’s notes, hinting to proteinmaxxers that this inexpensive meal counts toward their macro goals.

A $1 Egg McMuffin and you didn’t need a time machine to get it.

The menu items feature an English muffin stacked with Canadian bacon or Sausage, American cheese, a “freshly-cracked” egg and butter.

It’s clear people love their Mickey D’s breakfast: the chain says its restaurant system purchased more than 2 billion eggs in the U.S. in 2024 alone.

McDonald’s has said it “changed the breakfast game forever” when the Egg McMuffin debuted in 1971. Invented due to a “happy accident,” the sandwich has become a marquee menu item ever since.

Unlike other quick-service restaurants, McDonald’s has been making this drive-thru icon with a freshly cracked egg — not a premixed egg patty — for 54 years and counting.
