The secluded lakeside cottage that played a pivotal role in the Season 1 finale of the hit HBO series “Heated Rivalry” is about to welcome guests of its own.
Barlochan Cottage, the private Lake Muskoka retreat where rival hockey players Ilya and Shane finally escaped the spotlight and embraced their relationship, will soon be available to book on Airbnb for the first time. Since the show premiered in November and quickly became a breakout success, the cottage has taken on a life of its own among fans, symbolizing the rare privacy and emotional freedom the characters found together.
Now, viewers will have the chance to experience that same quiet escape in real life.

Tucked along the Canadian shoreline and surrounded by forest, the modern cottage was designed with seclusion in mind. Guests who book a stay will have exclusive access to the entire property, including a private dock that opens directly onto Lake Muskoka, expansive lake-facing windows and a warm, minimalist interior anchored by a central fireplace.
The fully equipped kitchen and open living space invite slow mornings and relaxed evenings, while a private gym and high-end entertainment system offer modern comforts without disrupting the sense of retreat.

The cottage’s primary bedroom, complete with an en-suite bathroom and automated curtains, provides a peaceful place to unwind after a day spent swimming, watching the sunset or simply listening to the quiet sounds of the lake. For those who want to venture out, the nearby town of Gravenhurst offers classic Muskoka charm, with local shops and restaurants just a short drive away.
Airbnb will release four early-access weekends: May 8-10, May 16-18, May 22-24 and May 29-31, with bookings opening March 3 at 12 p.m. ET. Nightly stays are priced at $248.10 CAD (about $182 USD), a subtle nod fans will recognize as a tribute tied to the characters featured in the series.
Interest in Muskoka has surged alongside the show’s popularity, with Airbnb reporting a 40% increase in searches for the region since late December. Long known as one of Canada’s most beloved cottage destinations, the area has drawn visitors for generations seeking privacy, nature and a slower pace of life.
