Compass executive Jeff Polashuk is exiting the company after eight years with the brokerage, The Real Deal has learned.
Polashuk, regional vice president of Compass Florida, will step down from his role in March, he confirmed. Polashuk is joining Gideon Strategic Partners, where he’ll be a vice president with a focus on real estate. The Los Angeles-based wealth management firm and registered investment adviser, led by CEO Robert Amoruso, is expanding to Miami.
Polashuk’s departure from Compass follows the $4 billion merger between Compass and Anywhere Real Estate, now under one umbrella company called Compass International Holdings, led by CEO Robert Reffkin. The brokerage Compass is now led by president Neda Navab.
Polashuk said the merger did not play a role in his decision to leave the company. His experience will come into play as Gideon looks to invest more in real estate.
Polashuk will keep his real estate license active with Compass.
Polashuk joined Compass in 2017, when the brokerage had about 60 agents in South Florida. The southeastern region now includes roughly 5,000 agents. He worked closely with Beth Butler, Compass’ former regional director of new development for the Southeast, who retired at the end of 2024.
Polashuk called his time at Compass “nothing short of incredible.”
Navab notified agents of Polashuk’s planned departure in a company-wide email sent on Wednesday, calling him a “strong and steady leader” and a trusted adviser. John Bilek, a regional vice president and head of sales management nationwide, will oversee Florida and Georgia. Managing Directors Adam Vellano and Steven Busch will remain in place, Navab said.
Compass has recruited a handful of top talent over the past year, including Miltiadis Kastanis, who helped the firm secure the exclusive sales and marketing assignment for Nahla Capital’s Rosewood-branded Raleigh Miami Beach development.
Following the Compass-Anywhere merger, Anywhere’s former CEO Ryan Schneider and CTO Rudy Wolfs left the company. Anywhere’s brands included Coldwell Banker, Century 21, Sotheby’s International Realty and the Corcoran Group, which are now under the Compass International Holdings umbrella.
