Colin Jost tries the bobsled — and the result is, of course, hilarious

Bobsledding is not for Colin Jost.

The “SNL” Weekend Update co-host recently joined Mike Tirico from Lake Placid, New York (where there’s talk the 2042 Olympics could be!), to dish on everything from his terrifying sledding experience to the hair of Olympic superstar Johannes Hosflot Klaebo.

(Klaebo made history Sunday morning, by the way. Check out that hair.)

Dressed in bobsledder attire, his helmet by his side, Jost said he launched from start point 1, at the top of the track, which could be more than 400 feet high. He wasn’t driving. Thankfully.

“I was not prepared for the terror of this bobsled,” Jost said. “I swear to God I thought I was going to die.”

In the video above, Jost can be heard sort of, screaming — and definitely cursing — as he flies down the drop. The top of the track is so high to allow bobsleds to reach speeds of 90 mph. That’s not quite as fast as a rollercoaster, but it probably feels like it when you’re in a sled.

It was worse for Jost.

“I thought my back was going to snap. I thought my bones were going to fly off my body and be littered all over the bobsled track,” he said. “It was by far the scariest experience I’ve had in my life.”
