Florida Panthers forward Sam Reinhart bought the home of Inter Miami’s Sergio Busquets for $9 million.
Records show Reinhart and his wife Jessica Jewel bought the home at 7 Seneca Road from Busquets’s Buga USA LLC, three months after he listed it for $9.8 million. Veroushka Maclean Volkert with One Sotheby’s International Realty and Vilma Datorre with Datorre Realty Group had the listing. Betsy Rauch with VG Luxury Properties Realty brought the buyer.
Reinhart started his National Hockey League career in 2014 with the Buffalo Sabres, and joined the Panthers in 2021. He won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the team in 2024 and 2025, and is one of the league’s top goal-scorers.
Busquets is considered one of the best defensive midfielders in soccer. He played for FC Barcelona from 2008 until he and teammate Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami in 2023. He retired in December.
Busquets and his wife, Elena Galera, bought the Seneca Road home for $8.7 million in 2023. Built that year on 0.3 acres, the 7,100-square-foot home has seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, one half-bathroom and 100 feet of waterfront on Lake Seneca.
The home is in the gated community Sea Ranch Lakes, a tiny, private village just outside Fort Lauderdale. The community spans just 0.2 square miles and is almost entirely walled. It has its own police force and mayor, with fewer than 200 homes and a private beach club.
Its small size and security features have proven popular with professional athletes over the years.
“It’s very chill. We’ve had NFL players, NBA players, race car drivers, executives,” Volkert told The Real Deal in 2023. “People are respectful, and it’s private, and they respect their privacy.”
Homesellers could benefit from the attention star athletes bring to the community. Another Seneca Road home sold for a record $13 million in October, according to records. A waterfront home in the community at 34 Minnetonka Road is on the market asking $20 million. Compass agent Tim Elmes has the listing.
