Savannah Guthrie is on the mend.
The TODAY co-anchor let fans she is doing well after having undergone surgery on her vocal cords.
“See you soon! 💛” she captioned a photo of herself holding a dry erase board that said, “All good! Thanks for prayers and love!”
Savannah previously said that as part of her recovery she will have to be “totally silent” for a few weeks.
On Dec. 19, Savannah told TODAY viewers she would be stepping away from the show to treat an issue with her voice.
“I have vocal nodules, and now I also have a polyp,” she said. “It’s not a big, big deal, but I am going to have a surgery real early in the new year and be off for a couple of weeks. So it’s my last day for a little while.”
“You’ll love this, guys. I have to be silent for a couple of weeks, totally silent. Christmas coming early for my family,” she added to her fellow co-hosts.
Sheinelle also had surgery on one of her vocal cords back in 2020.
“The silver lining is you have permission to be still,” she told Savannah. “The house gets quiet. The kids are going to want to help you out.”
Sheinelle then took out the dry erase board that she used to communicate after her surgery. Savannah joked that she would use it to parent her children, Vale, 11, and Charley, 9.
“I know. I’ll be like, ‘No, you cannot eat candy in your bedroom,’” Savannah said.
“It’ll be great. You’ll be fine,” Sheinelle reassured her.
Savannah was also looking forward to rectifying the ongoing health issue.
“I’m really excited about it,” she said. “This has been going on for years, honestly.”
