Pagani Residences revs up car concierge with Prestige Imports

Developer Mikael Hamaoui teamed up with one of the biggest exotic car dealers in the country to launch an automotive concierge program at his planned Pagani Residences.

Prestige Imports, led by CEO Brett David, will launch its Auto Privata service at the hypercar-branded project when it is completed, according to a news release.

Prestige will train the condo’s valet staff, provide monthly vehicle condition reports and service scheduling. Residents will be able to buy memberships and a la carte services to maintain their car collections, including “discreet” vehicle delivery to “private airports, social events, or restaurants,” according to the release.

Prestige is based in North Miami Beach and was founded in 1977 by David’s late father, Irv David. It is one of the largest dealerships for luxury, exotic and supercars in North America and one of three licensed Pagani dealers in the country.

Hamaoui’s Riviera Horizons launched sales of the 28-story, 70-unit Pagani Residences slated for 7940 West Drive in North Bay Village in 2024. Prices start at $3.7 million, and construction is expected to finish in 2028.

It is one of a growing number of luxury condo projects boasting luxury vehicle brands, including Gil Dezer’s Porsche Design Tower and his planned Bentley Residences. Also in the development pipeline are Michael Stern’s Mercedes-Benz Places project and Related Group’s Pininfarina-designed condo development.

While some car-branded projects offer car-centric amenities –– Dezer’s two projects famously include his “Dezervator” to transport vehicles to units –– David said others don’t offer much more than the name.

“There’s not much to it,” he said.

The Auto Privata service joins a fierce amenities arms race in South Florida condo development. In a sea of projects, developers compete to stand out with flashy benefits like theaters, golf simulators, private dining rooms, guest suites and concierge medical services to woo buyers.

Hamaoui said he wanted to prioritize practicality.

“You have to pick and choose which amenities are going to be most meaningful,” he said, noting that many amenities can “just collect dust once the project is delivered.”

The draw of branded residences for many South Florida buyers is the services they provide, and Hamaoui heard from a growing number of car collectors worried about tracking down these kinds of services in Miami.

The market for collectible cars has exploded in recent years, along with nearly every luxury goods category.

“Cars have now turned into a blue chip stock,” David said.

Miami has emerged as a new capital of car culture in the U.S., as host to F1’s Miami Grand Prix. With more collectors in need of luxury vehicle storage, real estate developers are building garages and clubs for the region’s gearheads. In Miami’s Little River, Harvey Hernandez’s Newgard Development Group is planning Revault Miami, a luxury car condo that will fit up to nine cars in each of its 16 units. Mark S. Gold, founder of The Ticket Clinic, is planning a 26-unit car condo in Pembroke Pines. Scott Cunningham’s Hangar Group has planned a 68-unit car condo in West Palm Beach, after selling out his first in Riviera Beach.
