Mariah Carey shares hilarious reaction to holiday season ending

All Mariah Carey wants for Christmas is for the festive season to continue.

The “We Belong Together” singer had a hilarious reaction to her Christmas decorations being taken down as the holiday season officially comes to a close.

In the video set to Carey’s “In Your Feelings,” the 56-year-old can be seen objecting as two pals attempt to take an ornament off her Christmas tree. In the laugh-out-loud clip, Carey jokingly acts distraught over the season change, repeatedly shouting, “no!”

As Carey captioned the Jan. 3 X video, “When they say ‘Christmas is over.’”

While the festive months are on their way out, the yuletide queen herself got the best gift from Santa this year: time spent with her 14-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.

In an adorable family photo, Carey posed alongside her not-so-little-ones — who she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon — in a figure-hugging red dress. Meanwhile, Roc and Roe sported matching outfits in the Dec. 26 Instagram post that featured holiday-themed sweaters complete with their mom’s face and stitched with her beloved hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

Which is, of course, as one does when your mom’s iconic Christmas song reached two billion streams on Spotify this December.

Aside from spending time with her teens, the “Obsessed” hitmaker previously opened up about her other favorite holiday traditions, including a sleigh ride (sans Santa) the night before Christmas, which she likes to spend in Aspen, Colorado.

“When we’re in Aspen, it’s a whole other experience [than home in L.A.], because you’re dealing with the snow,” she told Extra in 2021. “That’s part of the decor for me. I look out the window and I’m like, ‘This is amazing!'”

She also loves a good “boiling” hot tub in the winter months, adding, “I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s kind of incredible”

Carey also gets down in the kitchen on Christmas Eve, utilizing her late father’s recipes, and on Christmas Day they have a “traditional dinner.” However, Carey isn’t doing all the work alone, admitting, “I’m not gonna lie, people help, but I’ll get in there and do the mashed potatoes…I love it.”

And though she’s gotten comfortable wearing her crown as the “Queen of Christmas,” Carey’s love for the holiday runs deep.

“But I think it’s disrespectful to be, like, ‘That’s what I am, that’s who I am,'” she noted. “I just love the holidays more than any time. Even though like a lot of times we dress the place up to make music and to do this and that, it’s not the same as the actual holidays. Even when I spent Christmas in a place that’s not snowy, I am a traditional lover of the holidays.”
