YASU Omakase | Miami

Chef Yasu Tanaka will open an eight-seat omakase counter in the Miami Design District. 

Spicy Hospitality Group, led by Andre Sakhai, will open YASU Omakase in a 904-square-foot space on Wednesday at 151 Northeast 41st Street, according to the tenant’s news release. Tanaka is collaborating with chef Raymond Li on the project. 

The lease comes after Spicy Hospitality opened Milanese trattoria Le Specialità in the Miami Design District late last year. 

Miami Design District Associates, the Design District developer and its biggest landlord, owns the building where YASU Omakase will open, records show. Miami Design District Associates is a partnership among Craig Robins’ Dacra, L Catterton Real Estate and Brookfield. 

Kitchen + Kocktails By Kevin Kelley | Miami 

A Southern soul food restaurant will open in Miami’s Wynwood. 

Kitchen + Kocktails By Kevin Kelley will open in an 8,000-square-foot space on Saturday at 2838 Northwest Second Avenue, according to the tenant’s news release. 

Kelley, a Dallas-based attorney, already has opened six other Kitchen + Kocktails outposts in 

Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

Records show New York-based Thor Equities, led by Joseph Sitt, owns the Wynwood building. 

Amal, Sofia | Boca Raton 

A pair of restaurants are on tap at a mixed-use development in downtown Boca Raton. 

Lebanese restaurant Amal pre-leased 10,600 square feet, and Italian fine-dining restaurant Sofia pre-leased 4,500 square feet at The Aletto project, according to a news release from the landlord’s broker. INK Entertainment –– a hospitality group based in Toronto and Miami, and led by Charles Khabouth and Danny Soberano –– is opening the eateries. 

Jonathan Carter and Dave Preston of Colliers represented Compson Associates. 

Boca Raton-based Compson, led by Robert D’Angelo and Carl Klepper, Jr., is partnering with West Palm Beach-based North American Development Group, led by CEO Jeff Preston, and Boca Raton jeweler Alfredo Aletto on the development of Aletto at 119 East Palmetto Park Road. The project will consist of a pair of 10-story buildings with 140,000 square feet of office, retail and hospitality space. 

FreshCo. Fish Market & Grill | Doral 

A seafood restaurant opened at the 250-acre Downtown Doral mixed-use complex. 

FreshCo. Fish Market & Grill is in a 2,900-square-foot space at 8455 Northwest 53rd Street in Doral, according to a Downtown Doral news release. FreshCo. Fish Market, led by Key West native Mario Palazon, has one other outpost in Kendall, at 12700 Southwest 122nd Avenue. 

Coral Gables-based Codina Partners is the master developer of the Downtown Doral mixed-use complex that includes multifamily, charter schools, offices and retail. Codina, led by father-daughter duo Armando Codina and Ana-Marie Codina, plans a 25,000-square-foot Downtown Doral retail addition, where UHealth pre-leased space for eye care, pelvic floor rehabilitation and hand therapy. 

LVMH, Independence Pet Holdings | Miami 

Aby Rosen’s RFR scored 42,000 square feet of leases at his downtown Miami office tower. 

LVMH renewed its 34,000-square-foot lease on five floors at the 100 Biscayne building at 100 Biscayne Boulevard for a seven-year term, according to the landlord’s news release. The French luxury goods conglomerate, which has been a tenant at the tower since 2007, leases the space for its Swiss watchmaker Hublot and LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetic. 

Independence Pet Holdings, which has a portfolio of pet insurance and lost pet recovery brands, leased 8,000 square feet for a 10-year term, the release says. 

New York-based RFR, also led by Michael Fuchs, bought 100 Biscayne for $81.1 million in 2022, according to records. 

Since then, the firm has increased occupancy from 60 percent to 92 percent, signing 22 new tenants, according to the release. Among the tenants added in recent years are The B100M & Shade, a 5,000-square-foot food and beverage chef collective. 

Cameron Tallon and Eric Groffman of CBRE, and AJ Camhi and Rob Weller of RFR represented the landlord in the recent leases. Luciana Carvalho of Carvalho Commercial Real Estate represented LVMH, and Geoffrey Kreiss and Iker Belauste of JLL represented Independence Pet Holdings. 

Skyline Consulting Group | Miami

A financial consultant leased space at Genting’s office properties in Miami’s Arts & Entertainment District. 

Skyline Consulting Group leased 26,600 square feet at 1501 Biscayne Boulevard, according to a news release from the landlord’s broker. 

Kevin Gonzalez and Ana Paula of Colliers represented Resorts World Omni, an affiliate of Malaysian casino conglomerate Genting. Nickel Goeseke of Cervera Real Estate represented the tenant. 

The building, formerly called Omni Offices, is part of a 14.6-acre assemblage that Genting bought for $236 million in 2011. Genting’s initial plan to develop a casino on the site never received the necessary licensing. 

The recent deal comes after Canadian trade school Skilled Trades College leased 30,000 square feet at the building, where it’s expected to open late this summer.
