Colleen Hoover is opening up about her health journey.
The “It Ends With Us” author recently shared insight into her cancer diagnosis, noting that she is nearing the end of radiation treatment.
“Second to last day of radiation,” she wrote alongside a photo on her Instagram Stories on Monday. “I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on @Texas.Oncology, but they’ve been great. Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them.”
Hoover’s health update comes days after she shared details about the unspecified type of cancer, noting her road ahead.
“I got results back today from the geneticist that say my cancer did not come from family genes,” she wrote in a Jan. 9 Facebook post. “It also didn’t come from the two main causes of the cancer, which are HPV and excessive hormones. This means it was more than likely environmental/lifestyle, which is lack of exercise, poor diet and stress.”

“I’m happy and grateful to be alive but I hate vegetables. I hate when I have to get off the couch. I hate sweating,” Hoover added. “I hate when science is right. If you see me at the gym, don’t even tell me good job. If you see me at a restaurant eating grilled chicken and drinking water, I’m probably real mad about it.”
In late October, the “Regretting You” author announced she had to miss the film’s premiere and other upcoming events due to “unavoidable surgery.”
“I will not be moderating the signing for @lukasgage this month, nor will I be able to attend the premiere or any events for @regrettingyoumovie,” Hoover, 46, wrote at the time alongside an Instagram carousel that included pictures of her posing alongside actor Lukas Gage. “I’m super bummed, but am having an unavoidable surgery and can’t travel for a while.”
Hoover went on to ask her fans to keep her updated with their experiences from seeing her film, which was released later that month.
“I’ll live vicariously through you guys,” she continued. “So sad to miss this movie release and premiere, but so grateful to all the actors and the team who put this together.”
