Fort Lauderdale to remove iconic Las Olas olive trees for wider sidewalks

The signature black olive trees along Las Olas Boulevard’s median will be replaced to make room for broader sidewalks and a healthier tree canopy, though street parking will remain. Construction is years away, with a final city vote set for February 3.
