Elle Fanning is fawning over her celebrity crush Jack Black.

While on the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globes on Jan. 11, the “Sentimental Value” star was surprised by a video message from the comedian, who she previously described as “sex on legs.”

“You make me very embarrassed with all this hall pass talk,” Black quipped in an Access Hollywood clip shown to Fanning at the Jan. 11 award show. “Look, I’m very flattered, but I have to keep my eye closed because I am so embarrassed.”

Blowing her a kiss, the 56-year-old continued, “Much love to you and yours.”

Black — who has been married to wife Tanya Haden since 2006 — also had an equally sweet and humorous note to Fanning’s boyfriend Gus Wenner, who was her date to the Nikki Glaser-hosted ceremony. (Click here to see all the stars on the red carpet.)

“Hi to your boyfriend also,” he added. “Dude, I didn’t do anything.”

For her part, Fanning was relieved that the “School of Rock” actor was being such a good sport about her infatuation with him.

“Oh my gosh, I was worried that he was gonna have a restraining order against me,” the 27-year-old told Access Hollywood. “I just love Jack Black. He’s loveable.”

In fact, Fanning’s sister Dakota Fanning previously revealed that they have a “group chat dedicated to how hot he is.”

“You once called him ‘the perfect man,'” Dakota, 31, reminded her younger sister during their September appearance on Vanity Fair’s Lie Detection Test series. “Would you leave your boyfriend if Jack Black declared his love for you?”

Though Fanning ultimately said she would not break up with her boyfriend of two years for Black, the lie detector showed “some deception” in her answer, prompting the sisters to burst out into laughter.

“Gus doesn’t care,” Fanning reasoned with a chuckle, adding that when the Rolling Stone exec ran into Black at the 2024 Golden Globes, he told the Tenacious D musician, “‘You’re her hall pass, by the way.'”
