Dunkin’ hops on protein bandwagon with 5 new drinks

Dunkin’ has resolved to hop onto the protein bandwagon this year.

On Jan. 7, the coffee and doughnut chain introduced “Protein Milk” to its menus, along with five new beverages that feature the ingredient. This is all part of a bigger winter menu update that also includes seasonal food and beverages and a new meal deal.

To mark the macros-focused launch, Dunkin’ teamed up with Grammy Award-winning musician Megan Thee Stallion for an upbeat Jazzercise-inspired commercial, “Dunk N’ Pump,” and a new, Megan-inspired menu item.

Dunkin’s Protein Milk

Dunkin’ says its new Protein Milk “delivers a creamy, familiar taste without a chalky texture or aftertaste.” Customers can add it to beverages that allow for a milk or nondairy base, like coffees, lattes, matcha and Refreshers, to provide 15 grams of protein.

Each of the following beverages is made with Protein Milk and delivers 15 grams of protein in a medium size:

  • Megan’s Mango Protein Refresher mixes mango flavor with Protein Milk for a “bright, tropical sip” in collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion.
  • Strawberry Protein Refresher is a “creamy” remix of the fan-favorite Strawberry Dragonfruit Refresher.
  • Caramel Chocolate Iced Protein Latte features espresso paired with chocolate and caramel flavors and Protein Milk.
  • Almond Iced Protein Matcha Latte is made with Protein Milk and nutty toasted almond flavor.
  • Iced Protein Latte with Sugar-Free Vanilla pairs espresso with Protein Milk and Dunkin’s first-ever Sugar-Free Vanilla syrup.

Megan said in a press release that she “can’t wait for the Hotties” to try her new Mango Protein Refresher. “Whether you’re drinking it to boost your fitness routine or just to power through a busy day, it’s the perfect drink for any occasion.”

New $5 Meal Deal

For 2026, Dunkin’ is launching a new $5 Meal Deal that features one Wake-Up Wrap, hash browns and a medium 14-ounce hot or 24-ounce iced coffee.

Winter Menu Newbies and Returning Favorites

In addition to its new protein-forward lineup, Dunkin is rolling out a selection of new and returning food and drink items as part of its winter menu:

  • Caramel Chocolate Shakin’ Espresso (new) features a double shot of espresso, caramel and chocolate flavors as well as oatmilk — shaken, not stirred.
  • Cocoa Cloud Latte (new) combines espresso with Caramel Chocolate syrup and milk, and is topped with Chocolate Cold Foam.
  • Berry Moonlight Daydream Refresher (new) combines Berry Sangria with oat milk and is topped with Sweet Cold Foam.
  • Golden Chocolate Donut (new) is filled with “golden fudge” and topped with chocolate icing and crushed toffee pieces.
  • Sweet Black Pepper Bacon: Returning for a limited time, this salty-sweet snack is seasoned with at blend of brown sugar and black pepper. It will be available on its own, as Snackin’ Bacon, as well as on the Sweet Black Pepper Bacon Breakfast Sandwich and Wake-Up Wrap.

Fast Food Bets Big on Protein

Before Dunkin’ tapped into macros mania, other fast-food spots paved the protein-packed way.

In November, Starbucks cafes in the U.S. and Canada introduced Protein Cold Foams and a line of Protein Lattes made with protein-boosted 2% milk. The chain has continued betting on protein by releasing yet another boosted drink on Jan. 6: Caramel Protein.

Other chains have relied on meatier protein offerings. Last month, Chipotle launched a protein-focused menu with items offering up to 81 grams of protein, like the Double High Protein Bowl with double Adobo Chicken, while Arby’s introduced Steak Nuggets, which offer 17 grams of protein.
