Dolphins fire coach Mike McDaniel after four seasons – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports | Fort Lauderdale

MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (WSVN) – The Miami Dolphins said Thursday they have relieved head coach Mike McDaniel of his duties, ending his four-year run leading the franchise.

In a statement, Ross said after “extensive discussions,” he came to the decision that the organization needed a comprehensive change.

McDaniel had said earlier this week that he expected to remain on the job.

McDaniel went 35-33 in his four seasons, including a 7-10 finish in 2025 as Miami missed the playoffs for a second straight year.

The move comes as the Dolphins are also searching for a new general manager after longtime GM Chris Grier was dismissed during the season.
