The Christmas Day game between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings was a real Dogg fight.
While the Vikings won the game, 23-10, and officially knocked the Lions out of playoff contention, the real story may have been Snoop Dogg’s epic halftime show.
The rapper performed at Minnesota’s U.S. Bank Stadium with country star Lainey Wilson and HUNTR/X of “Kpop Demon Hunters” fame. Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and his son, Matteo, came out and joined them all to sing “White Christmas.”
Snoop was introduced by pal Martha Stewart, who read a humorous version of “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” tailored to the “Gin and Juice” singer.
During the “Holiday Halftime Party” special, the rapper was accompanied by a 30-person choir, drummer and a team of dancers while he performed several of his hits, including “Nuthin’ but a G Thang,” “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” and “Drop it Like it’s Hot.”
HUNTR/X performed “12 Days of Christmas” and Wilson electrified the crowd with “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”
That all led to the Bocellis taking the stage for “White Christmas.”
Snoop sported a bright red suit and overcoat, standing out against the white ensembles his collaborators wore.
“NFL, Netflix, and your Uncle Snoop on Christmas Day?” Snoop said about his show. “We’re servin’ up music, love, and good vibes for the whole world to enjoy. That’s holiday magic Santa can’t fit in a bag.”
Viewers on X who tuned into Netflix to see the game were in awe.
“Elmo loves your outfit Mr. Snoop Dogg!” the account for Elmo wrote.
“The Netflix/Snoop Dogg halftime show is better than the last three Super Bowl halftime shows combined,” raved one fan.
“King. Icon. Legend.Hands down one of the greatest halftime shows ever. There’s a reason @SnoopDogg is one of the most beloved American entertainers of all time,” gushed Meghan McCain.
“Snoop Dogg with the greatest Halftime Show of All Time,” commented another fan.
“Who knew the half time show for the Lions Vikings game would be better than the Superbowl? Snoop Dogg is the truth!” someone else wrote.
“SNOOP’S HOLIDAY HALFTIME PARTY WAS AMAZING,” approved the NFL.
“One of the greatest performances of All Time,” NFL reporter Dov Kleiman wrote.
