Mexican popstar Paulina Rubio sold her waterfront home in Miami Beach’s Venetian Islands for $16.8 million in an off-market deal.
Records show Rubio’s P. Blonde Studios Music and Art LLC sold the house at 20 West Dilido Drive to Tidal Property Group, a Delaware entity.
Rubio is a Mexican singer who started her career at 9 years old in the children’s Latin pop group Timbiriche. In 1991, she launched her solo career and recorded hits like “Ni Una Sola Palabra,” “Te Quise Tanto” and “Dame Otro Tequila.” She is the daughter of Mexican actress Susana Dosamantes.
Records show a Florida entity managed by both Rubio and Dosamantes bought the 0.3-acre West Dilido Drive property for $520,000 in 1996. The 3,800-square-foot home was built in 2004 and includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a dock, according to property records. It is on Di Lido Island in the Venetians.
The islands have seen a number of pricey sales with high-profile buyers this year, as demand for luxury waterfront properties has held strong throughout the Miami Beach market. In August, billionaire Best Buy founder Richard Schulze was linked to the $27 million purchase of a waterfront spec home on Di Lido.
In July, tech executives Tom and Patricia Kennedy, who founded and sold the custom app builder Zudy, sold their waterfront mansion on San Marino Island for a record $46 million.
In March, venture capitalist Amit Raizada sold a waterfront spec home on Rivo Alto for $19.2 million. The month prior, Progressive insurance heir Daniel Lewis sold a waterfront spec home on Di Lido for $19.5 million.
Among the islands’ big name residents is billionaire PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, who bought a pair of homes on Rivo Alto for $18 million in 2020. Last year, he won approval to build a 6,800-square-foot home on his compound, which will include two offices and nanny’s quarters.
