Wenne Alton Davis, who appeared in the Amazon series “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and had a long list of TV credits, was killed in a car collision in New York on Monday.
Davis, who used they/them pronouns, was 60.
The New York Police Department said in a statement that Davis was found by officers just after 9 p.m. lying in the road after a Black Cadillac SUV struck them on W 53rd Street and Broadway in Midtown.
Davis sustained severe trauma to the head and body before being taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said.
The vehicle was driven by a 61-year-old man, according to the NYPD. Police said that the man, whose name was not released, was not injured, no arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing.
Jamie Harris, Davis’ agent, posted on Instagram: “Rest in peace, old friend. We will miss you forever,” alongside a photo of him with Davis.
Davis appeared in a string of shows, including “Blindspot” and “New Amsterdam,” and had a bit part in the movie “Shame,” starring Michael Fassbender. They lived in Queens’ Forest Hills neighborhood, according to the NYPD.
