The comedy world has said goodbye to one of their own.
Comedian and voice actor Jeff Garcia, who was best known for lending his voice to cartoons such as “The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron,” “Boy Genius,” “Barnyard” and “Happy Feet,” died on Dec. 10, his son confirmed on Instagram. He was 50.
“My father was a unique soul,” Jojo Garcia wrote in a joint Instagram post with his father’s account Dec. 10. “He was unapologetically himself and I will always admire the love, compassion, and drive that he had.”
Jojo — a comedian himself — shared a carousel of photos with Garcia, adding that his father taught him so much and shared advice that Jojo lives “by every single day.”
“He was a Father, Son, Uncle, Cousin, Brother, but most of all, he was my best friend,” Jojo continued. “I would call him every day. I would tell him about the plans I had in comedy and my life. He believed in me, in a way that nobody else did.”

He also praised his father’s comedian talents, writing that Garcia was “truly one of a kind.”
“From voice acting to stand up comedy, he shined with his quick wit, brash humor, and charm,” Jojo wrote. “He has made such an impact on people’s lives internationally, whether you grew up watching Jimmy Neutron, or shared a laugh with him at one of his shows. He was my hero… I idolized him.”
Garcia — who was also dad to daughter Savannah — was well known in both the comedy world and the voice acting world, performing in comedy clubs around California. He most recently voiced his “Jimmy Neutron” character Sheen Estevez in the 2025 video game “Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny.“
Jojo — whose mother is Garcia‘s ex-wife Lisa Garcia — did not confirm his father’s cause of death, but in the comments thanked fans for their kind words and asked for privacy for himself and his family “during this difficult time.”
And although Garcia is gone, his son is positive his dad’s legacy will never be forgotten.
“He lives on through our family and friends he loved so dearly, along with the legacy he has created,” Jojo concluded. “I know you’re in heaven smiling down and you’re in a better place now. No more pain. I’m going to make you proud pops. Fly high, Rocket Man.”
