A waterfront residential highrise in Fort Lauderdale is among the projects developers pitched in a year-end flurry of applications in the city.
An entity tied to Camaco Development, led by Josephine Campeau, wants to develop the 36-unit Harbor Beach Residences building on a 0.8-acre site at 3049 and 3043 Harbor Drive, according to a profile application included in the city’s Planning and Zoning Board meeting agenda. It’s unclear if the units will be apartments or condos.
The board is expected to vote on the 21-story proposal at its Jan. 21 meeting.
Designed by Adache Group Architects and Kora, the building will include a five-story lobby and garage podium and a seventh story amenity deck.
The development site consists of two lots, one owned by Coral Gables-based Camaco Development and the other by Karma Executive Homes, which is managed by Rajiv Sharma, according to records.
Fort Lauderdale and Broward County as a whole were largely overlooked during the hefty development and investment activity in South Florida in the immediate years after the pandemic’s onset. But more recently, luxury condo construction has boomed in the area.
Edgardo Defortuna’s Fortune International Group and Ricardo Dunin’s Oak Capital are partnering on their planned Ritz-Carlton Residences, Pompano Beach with a 32-story, 117-unit Beach Tower and a 14-story, 88-unit Marina Tower. The project is at 1380 South Ocean Boulevard in Pompano Beach.
Also in Pompano Beach, the Pérez family’s Related Group and Motwani family’s Merrimac Ventures plan a Waldorf Astoria-branded condo development with a 28-story, 92-unit building at 1213 South Ocean Boulevard. In Fort Lauderdale, Related also plans the 46-story, 163-unit Andare Residences by Pininfarina luxury condo at 521 East Las Olas Boulevard. Cymbal DLT, led by Asi Cymbal and Hector Torres, plans the $1.5 billion Nautico District with more than 1,200 residential units and a 30-story hotel on the New River south of downtown Fort Lauderdale. The residential units will consist of condos in a 37-story tower and apartments in a 30-story tower. The 6-acre Nautico assemblage is at 413 Southwest Third Avenue.
