A sneak peek at “The Devil Wears Prada 2?” Groundbreaking indeed.
Though the sequel to the beloved 2006 film is still six months away from its May 1 release date, a teaser trailer has given fans a first look at Meryl Streep as the acerbic Miranda Priestly and Anne Hathaway as the not-so-green Andy Sachs in the upcoming installment.
The trailer opens with the clicking of ruby red heels — featuring austere metal studs — as an unidentified woman walks briskly down an office hallway. Interspersed with the shot are clips of the fashion world: clothing being taken off a rack, celebrities arriving at a glamorous red carpet, a woman being zipped into a couture gown, champagne bottles popping, cameras flashing.
But while the initial shots only focus on the red stilettos — revealing nothing more than a hint of skirt — there is only one person who can pull off such a commanding strut.
And indeed, as the camera pans to a wide shot of an opening elevator, it’s Miranda Priestly who turns around — greeting the camera in a black and white houndstooth skirt, red belt and black blouse, her hair perfectly coiffed into its in its signature white pixie cut and black sunglasses sitting on her face.

But unlike the original film, she isn’t the only person steering the ship this time around.
Just as the doors are about to close, a hand sneaks in, Sachs stepping in to join her former boss.
The older and wiser — and better-equipped — Sachs wears a chic pearl necklace set and black, tailored vest, her long dark hair done into waves.
“Miranda,” she greets her companion, with the fashion executive replying, “Took you long enough.”
And as the elevator doors begin to close, Sachs flashes a smile as she puts on her own pair of black, dark-tinted sunglasses.
The final graphics of the trailer highlight the return of Streep, Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt, all of whom starred in the original film.
Joining the original cast members are the likes of Simone Ashley, Pauline Chalamet, Justin Theroux, BJ Novak and even Lady Gaga — the latter of whom is reportedly making an appearance after filming for the movie in Milan Oct. 10.
The cast of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” has captivated the streets of NYC, and Access Hollywood is rounding up all the best behind-the-scenes moments from filming.
While the cast have remained tight-lipped when it comes to the secrets of the sequel, Blunt recently reacted to the attention the film was getting while filming in New York City.
“We feel a little bit like zoo exhibits,” the “Smashing Machine” star joked to E! News in September. “But that’s OK. People are excited.”
And while fans will have to keep their excitement to a glacial pace while they wait for the sequel, there’s plenty to love from the first installment.
