ScandyCandy, La Coqueta | Palm Beach
The Royal Poinciana Plaza in Palm Beach scored two new tenants.
Swedish candy store ScandyCandy opened on Saturday, and British childrenswear boutique La Coqueta opened last month at The Current, a retail hub at The Royal Poinciana Plaza, according to the landlord’s news releases.
ScandyCandy, created by brothers Calle and Wille Olsed, has one other U.S. outpost at 241 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. La Coqueta, which also has a store in Charleston, South Carolina, is led by founder and creative director Celia Muñoz.
Originally developed in the 1950s, the 192,000-square-foot Royal Poinciana Plaza includes luxury retail space, gardens and two courtyards. Boston-based WS Development owns the leasehold of the plaza. The property is owned by a trust led by Sidney Spiegel, according to records. The Royal Poinciana Plaza is at 340 Royal Poinciana Way.
The square footage ScandyCandy and La Coqueta each leased wasn’t immediately provided.
Herman Law | Boca Raton
Herman Law, which exclusively represents survivors of sexual abuse, kept its headquarters in Boca Raton and expanded the office.
Herman Law leased 18,000 square feet at 1800 North Military Trail, up from its previous 10,000-square-foot office at the building, according to the tenant’s spokesperson. The law firm has roughly 200 employees across eight offices, including in New York City; Buffalo, New York; Los Angeles, San Diego and Sacramento. It also will open an office in Baltimore, Maryland.
Joe Freitas of CBRE represented the landlord.
The four-story 1800 North Military Trail office building is part of Boca Center mixed-use complex. In 2022, a joint venture between Macquarie Capital | Principal Finance and Vanderbilt Office Properties bought the majority of Boca Center for $261.5 million. The pair paid $76.1 million for the 1800 North Military Trail building as part of the deal.
Macquarie Capital is the financing and investment division of Sydney, Australia-based Macquarie Group, led by CEO Shemara Wikramanayake. Chicago-based Vanderbilt is led by CEO Casey Wold.
