Exclusive: Ariana Grande tells TODAY her next 'dream' after 'Wicked'

Ariana Grande has big dreams.

During an interview with TODAY’s Sheinelle Jones, which aired on on Nov. 18, Grande, 32, revealed what she plans on doing once her “Wicked: For Good” press run is over.

“I really am enjoying acting right now. Whether it’s movies or being on stage or a little something here and there, I think that’s currently what I’m most inspired by,” she said. “I’ll still sing, I promise. But yes, right now, that’s currently where I’m at.”

Grande said she’s also interested in doing more theater because that’s where her career started. Grande made her Broadway debut “13: The Musical” in 2008 when she was about 15 years old.

“It would be a dream to find the right thing to come back to, to be on stage,” she said. “And we’ll see. I’m grateful to be along for the ride.”

Grande has already started realizing her dream of doing more on-screen work. The “Eternal Sunshine” singer has secured the role of Olivia Jones in Ben Stiller’s new movie, “Focker-in-Law.” The film is the latest installment in the “Meet the Parents” franchise and it’s currently in post-production.

When asked what it was like working on the movie that has a starring cast of Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Owen Wilson and more, Grande says she had a “spectacular” time working with everyone on set.

“I mean, I have grown up adoring Ben. Every single person in the cast I have grown up worshiping, so to be able to work with them and share a creative space with them was a dream come true,” she said.

Cynthia Erivo stepped in to protect “Wicked: For Good” costar Ariana Grande after a fan jumped the barricade and grabbed the actress at the movie’s premiere in Singapore.

As for her singing career, Grande says she still wants to do that, as well. She said she wishes to balance that with her work as an actor.

“I think I’ve learned that they feed one another,” she said. “And I think that balance was missing in my life for a long time, and they’ll figure out the dance as we go.”

If there’s one thing she’s thankful in her life, it’s for her fans.

“My fans are so incredibly supportive of that and of me navigating that in real time and being a curious, creative person who’s always wondering what will inspire next,” she said.
