Taylor Swift fans have new music to enjoy, but the “Life of a Showgirl” singer is putting actual shows on pause for a bit.
During an interview on Friday, the same day she released her 12th studio album, Swift shared that she will not be touring anytime soon.
“I’m gonna be really honest with you. Like, I am so tired when I think about doing it again because I would want to do it really, really well again,” the 35-year-old told BBC Radio 1 host Greg James when asked if she had the “itch” to get back on the road.

Swift kicked off her historic Eras Tour in March 2023 and went on to perform 149 shows across two years and five continents. It brought in an estimated $2.2 billion, doubling up the previous record for the highest-grossing tour of all time.
“I knew it was crazy what was happening,” Swift said. “We have never had anything happen like that. I’ve been with my band for a very long time. My tour, my crew, my touring family, my team … we’re all very close and have been forever and none of us have ever had anything like that happen.”
Swift said she has time for other interests now that she isn’t touring the globe.
“I could only do the Eras Tour when I was on the Eras Tour, and that’s two years of having no other hobbies,” she said. “And now I have hobbies again.”
While the Eras Tour may have kept Swift from her hobbies, it did not keep her out of the studio.
The 14-time Grammy winner has released four albums since the start of the Eras Tour: two brand new albums and two “Taylor’s Version” releases. “The Tortured Poets Department” preceded “The Life of a Showgirl” with an April 2024 release, while “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” came out in 2023.
“I have hobbies again.”
Taylor Swift on life after the Eras Tour
As she continues to make the media rounds following the release of “The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift looks back on her historic tour fondly.
“I miss it, but it’s like, it was perfect for what it was,” she said.
“I miss it because I miss the fans and I miss that connection, it was the most formative time of my life, I learned so much about how far I can push myself … Coolest thing in the world, I had some really lofty goals I wanted to reach conceptually.”
