Seth Meyers joked that Travis Kelce might suffer from “face blindness” after he experienced a major celebrity mix-up.
While appearing on the Oct. 8 episode of “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Swift said that after some drinks and partying the night away with various celebrities, including Mila Kunis, Tom Cruise and Ashton Kutcher, he mixed up “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig for Hugh Grant’s wife, Anna Eberstein.
“The most fun thing about having Travis out on tour is that he would go to the tents and give me the tea afterward. We’d do the debrief afterward in the car,” she said.
Swift said that it was during their debrief that she noticed something he was saying wasn’t right. When he told her about his night, Swift said Kelce tried to congratulate Gerwig on the success of her “Barbie” movie. However, when he told a “Barbie” joke, thinking it was Gerwig, he said the director reacted strangely.
“That’s very out of character,” Swift said of her response.
It was only until Kelce started sharing more events that happened that night that Swift then realized he was talking to the wrong person at the event.
Swift said that Kelce told her that Gerwig and Grant were acting like “soulmates” at the party and were dancing really closely all night.
“He keeps talking. I’m seeing all over the internet is just videos of Travis dancing with Greta all night like they’re best friends. And I’m like, ‘Travis here’s a video of you with Greta. It feels like she thought the joke was funny.’ And he goes, ‘Oh, that’s not Greta!'” Swift recalled with a smile.
The “Midnights” singer said she then told Kelce that he was talking to the wrong person the whole night, which made Meyers’ studio audience laugh.
“Well, the bad news for you is he has face blindness and the good news is he can recognize true love,” Meyers joked to Swift. “So, at least, he saw soulmates.”
Taylor Swift talks about releasing her album “The Life of a Showgirl,” Travis Kelce trying to distract her from his surprise proposal and why she’s not performing at the Super Bowl.
