A small airplane made an emergency landing Monday afternoon on a bike path and greenspace area in North Lauderdale, authorities said.
The incident, which occurred around 4:40 p.m. in the 8100 block of Southgate Boulevard, prompted a response from local deputies and fire rescue teams.
No injuries were reported among the two people aboard the aircraft.
Emergency response to the incident
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies in North Lauderdale, along with North Lauderdale Fire Rescue, responded to the scene of the landing.
“No injuries were reported,” the office said and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was notified of the emergency landing.
Tamarac Fire confirmed that they provided mutual aid. “They did transport 1 female with minor injuries to a local hospital. The lady was on the street waiting for a bus. The 2 people on board the plane were not transported,” a Tamarac Fire spokesperson said via phone.

Chopper 4 images captured the small plane resting on a walkway adjacent to a body of water. Authorities said the two passengers on board walked away from the aircraft uninjured.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office and local fire teams secured the area while emergency personnel assessed the situation.
Officials continue to investigate the cause of the emergency landing.
