Disaster relief mogul family sells oceanfront Delray Beach mansion for $30M

The family that founded one of the country’s largest disaster relief companies sold an oceanfront Delray Beach mansion for $29.6 million.

Records show the 1171 Ocean LLC, a Delaware entity managed by Saily Perkins, sold the home at 1171 South Ocean Boulevard to Sunset Pine Trust, with attorney Elana Bronson signing on behalf of the buyer. The true buyer is hidden.

Nick Malinosky and Michael O’Connor with Douglas Elliman had the listing. Nicholas Gonzalez and Matthew Moser with Serhant brought the buyer.

Perkins’ late husband, Randy Perkins, founded AshBritt, the Deerfield Beach-based disaster relief company now helmed by their daughter, Brittney Perkins Castillo. AshBritt contracts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for disaster response services in 25 states, including all hurricane states. It worked on the relief efforts for Hurricanes Katrina, Sandy and Irma, and has received lucrative contracts for fire cleanup in California, according to CalMatters. In 2021, Randy Perkins paid the Federal Election Commission a $125,000 penalty after AshBritt donated $500,000 to a pro-Trump super PAC, according to Forbes. Government contractors are legally barred from donating to political committees.

Randy Perkins died of a heart attack at the age of 60 in December, according to his obituary in the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Randy and Saily Perkins bought the Delray Beach home for $18 million in 2021, according to property records. The 9,800-square-foot mansion was built on 0.9 acres in 1994, records show. The couple renovated the home, which now has five bedrooms, two staff or guest bedrooms, nine bathrooms, one half-bathroom, a club room and a pool. The home was sold fully furnished and was designed by Marc Michaels Interiors, the listing shows.

The family also purchased the house at 1111 South Ocean Boulevard for $21.1 million in 2021. They also own the home next door at 1141 South Ocean Boulevard.

Saily Perkins listed the mansion at 1171 South Ocean Boulevard for $34 million in August, Zillow shows.

Hers is the latest in a string of pricey closings in Delray Beach in recent weeks.

Earlier this month, spec developer Mark Pulte sold an oceanfront spec mansion for $59 million. In the nearby Stone Creek Ranch gated community, Mark Wahlberg bought a mansion for $32.6 million. Billionaire Quogue Capital founder Wayne Rothbaum also sold two adjacent oceanfront lots for $44 million, after buying them for $18.3 million.
