Darius Rucker is heading down the aisle!
The “Wagon Wheel” singer announced his engagement to girlfriend Emily Deahl in a joint Instagram post Oct. 8. The post features a photo of Rucker proposing on one knee and a selfie of Rucker kissing Deahl on the cheek.
“Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known,” he wrote. “The day I met you I knew I didn’t want to go another one without you. Now I don’t have to.”

Sharing the post to her Instagram story, Deahl said she “never intended on keeping this part of my life from you guys for so long, but somewhere along the way of loving him I discovered how sacred love is to me.”
Adding that she aimed to “protect” her love with Rucker, she continued, “But damn I’m glad I don’t have to spend the time photoshopping him out of every photo now.”
Until recently, the two have kept their relationship under wraps.
Last month, the couple went Instagram official when Rucker shared a smiling selfie with Deahl outside the Sphere in Las Vegas. In the caption, Rucker said he had attended “The Wizard of Oz” experience“with my love & my boys. 1000/10!!!!!”
While she seemingly has never included Rucker in a social media post, Deahl has shared videos since April referring to “my man” and having a boyfriend.
Deahl has previously shared her music on YouTube, where she also posts lifestyle and music videos. On Spotify, she’s been releasing music since 2019 and her bio describes her as being influenced by Jack White, Lady Gaga, Freddie Mercury and Elvis.
Her Spotify bio reads that she has a “love and passion for a spectacle of a performance in music,” adding that her sound “can only be described as story-telling focused pop with dark, theatrical ties.”
For Rucker, the expected nuptials will mark his second marriage after splitting from ex-wife Beth Leonard in 2020. The two share children Daniella and Jack. Rucker is also father to daughter Carolyn, whom he shares with his ex Elizabeth Ann Phillips.
In a May 2024 interview with Billboard, Rucker opened up about the impact of his 20 yearslong marriage to Leonard, saying his ex-wife “saved my life.”
“I have so much love and respect for her,” he told the outlet. “The night she just said to me, ‘It’s time to quit,’ in her very colorful way, I realized it was time to quit.”
Rucker explained the relationship ended then because he “respected her and I respected my family. I just wanted to be a better person.”
The country music star went on to take credit for the divorce, saying that he was “just, a rockstar, and I lived that life.”
“It sucks for me and in writing about her, I just wanted the world to know that it was all me,” he said, referring to writing his memoir, “Life’s Too Short.” “She was awesome. It was all me.”
