Country music star Cody Johnson has canceled the remainder of his 2025 tour dates and will undergo “immediate” surgery to repair a burst eardrum.
Johnson, 38, announced in a message on Instagram on Oct. 7 that that he will be unable to perform at the six remaining 2025 shows scheduled on his “Leather Deluxe” tour due to his health issues.
“It is with a very heavy heart I have to share the remainder of this year’s concert performances will not be able to happen,” he wrote. “White battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, I burst my ear drum. The severity of the rupture means I must undergo immediate surgery.”
“The healing process will take many weeks, and it is not possible for me to sing during this time,” he continued. “Without the surgery my downtime could be months. I pray for full healing so I can get well and return to doing what I love. Thank you COJO Nation for the love and support now, and always.”
Johnson was scheduled to play shows in Pennsylvania, Alabama, Louisiana, Arizona and Nevada through the rest of this year.
He wrote in the caption on Instagram for fans who bought tickets to the affected shows to “please stay tuned for an email from your ticket providers for further details.”
The “Dirt Cheap” singer, who performed on TODAY in 2022, currently has seven tour dates listed for 2026.
The former bull rider and prison guard is also a father of two with his wife, Brandi Johnson. He had his first Top 40 hit in 2019, and his career grew bigger in 2022 with a pair of wins at the Country Music Association Awards. He then won album of the year at the CMAs in 2024.
